In an exclusive interview with The Guardian yesterday in Dar es Salaam, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade Uledi Mussa, said the plant will house its own abattoir and slaughter 1,000 cows per day.
The PS said the firm will be under Indian investors the Alna group under support from the government.
“This plant will create jobs and stir the economy,” he said.
“It will also give market to cattle ranches further catalyzing economic development in the country,” he added.
Uledi said the factory will adopt use of modern technology and prioritize the health of its customers and safety of employees.
“We anticipate that the plant will also work under strict observation of all environment regulations and codes,” he said.
He also appealed to Tanzanians to work hard to attract investors in our country to boost the economy and to work with the investors who have showed interest in the country.
“There are many opportunities in our country, we need more investment to create jobs and to catalyze the growth of economy,” he concluded.
